A Little Something - SAB Card

I love the look of the patchwork. I cased from A Nickell's Worth of Stamping. Mine is done all with Sale-A-Bration items - Stamp Set (Yummy), Delicate Dots DSP, and Ribbon Bundle (So Saffron). You can get these items and more FREE. For each $50 (mdse) you purchase from the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog, you get to select one item FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalog. Place your online order from my Stampin' Up! website by clicking on SHOP NOW in the upper right hand corner from any page.

I used the Stampin' Write Markers (Ballet Blue & Chocolate Chip) to color the stamp, and stamped on Whisper White card stock. I antiqued the tag in Chocolate Chip. I used a Rhinestone Brad from the Circle Fire in Yellow (109110, $10.95). The tag is adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals (104430, $3.95).

The chipboard heart is from On Board Essentials - Essentials (112085, $12.95). I used Bashful Blue Craft Stampin' Spot (105370, $25.95) to color it, and Crystal Effects glue (101055, $6.25) to adhere the Chunky Sprinkles Stampin' Glitter in Light Blue (111343, $15.95)

The pretty border was made using the Eyelet Border Punch (113692, $15.95). The patchwork was created by punching 12 squares, using our 1-1/4" punch (104400, $15.95) and adhering them to a piece of Whisper White card stock. Then, using the Sizzix Big Shot (113439, $99.95) and the Stampin' Up! Exclusive Sizzix Top Note Die (113463, $21.95), I punched the Top Note shape. That is too cool.

Well, I hope you like the card. Tell me what you think.

2, 4, 6, 8 Treat Boxes - Tutorial

These 2,4,6,8 boxes make a cute treat box. You can use as party favors at baby and bridal showers. Also at your next party - have one box at each place setting at the table.

Instructions:

Start with 1/2 sheet cardstock (5-1/2 x 8-1/2)

On the 5-1/2” side, score at 2”, 4”, 6”, & 8”. There will be a 1/2” piece left.

Now turn and score at 2” on the 8-1/2” side.

Cut the 1/2” x 2” piece out as indicated above. Cut up to the 2” score line (this will be the bottom of the box.

Place a strip of Red adhesive tape on the 1/2” piece as indicated above. Also put Red tape around one of the 2” square pieces as shown above. You can see I trimmed off about 1/8” from this. (When the bottom is folded, it just makes everything fit better).

At this point you will want to stamp on your box, as you just can’t do it after you have made into the box.

Next, fold the box on all the score lines. Remove the adhesive strip from the 1/2” side tab. Fold the box into a square and secure.

Remove the red film from the tape strips on the one bottom flap. Now fold the bottom pieces as indicated by the numbers (Fold Up #1, Fold Up #2, etc). When you fold up the last flap (#4) press to firmly adhere.

Turn box over. Squeeze two opposite sides together, and the top of you box should look like this picture.

Now make notches on the four corners as indicated above

This is what the top will look like when a ribbon is tied around it.

It's Here - 3 Easy Payments for Starter Kit

It's official. During Sale-A Bration, you can sign up to become a demonstrator and pay for the kit over a three month period - your initial payment plus two subsequent months.

During economically challenging times, most of us tighten our budgets. Some expenditures that were once comfortable might now stretch a budget thin. We don't want anyone's efforts to budget wisely to become a barrier to joining Stampin' Up!, especially considering the wonderful benefits--personal and economical--being a demonstrator can bring. This is why Stampin' Up! has intruduced a Three Easy Payments option for the Starter Kit. For a limited time, (March 13-April 30, 2009) with a partial initial payment, when you sign up to be a demonstrator, you can receive the Starter Kit right away and get your business running. Two subsequent monthly payments take care of the rest.

If you're concerned about the up-front cost of the Starter Kit, now is the ideal time to sign up as a demonstrator. You can take advantage of both the discounted Starter Kit (15% off) as part of Sale-A-Bration and this great Three Easy Payments option! That's two great financial benefits--not to mention an additional stamp set free from the current catalog for signing up during Sale-A-Bration.

Contact me and I'll help you with any questions you have and help you submit the required forms. There are three forms that must be filled out:
  1. Independent Demonstrator Agreement
  2. Independent Demonstrator Application
  3. Starter Kit Order Form
  4. Three Easy Payments Form

You must write "Three Easy Payments Option" at the top of each of these forms. You will then also fill out the Three Easy Payments Form. The forms then need to be mailed to Stampin' Up!

To qualify for the Three Easy Payments option on the discounted Sale-A-Bration Starter Kit price of $169, Starter Kit paperwork and an accompanying Three Easy Payments form must be received by Stampin' Up! (not postmarked) on or before March 31, 2009. Paperwork received after this time will be processed for the regular Starter Kit price of $199.

I almost forgot. You also will get your very own copy of the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog FREE with your order - while supplies last or April 30, 2009, whichever comes first.

Pam's recruiting special: Sign up under me by March 15, I will give you an extra pack of assorted cardstock in each of the 4 color families (a $32 value) for FREE!!!!

Rain, Rain - Go Away!

Well, I think we've had quite enough rain for a while. The Quad Cities IL/IA has had over 3" of rain over the last 3-4 days. The rivers and streams are rising and we have flooding, because the ground is so saturated that any rain we get now just runs off.

I'm sure glad I had my basement waterproofed and a sump pump installed a few weeks back. I have heard the pump running on and off. Water is still running into the pit. My daughter-in-law (Shannon) father does water proofing. I highly recommend them - Menting Masonry & Waterproofing, Moline, IL.

Now that the rain is gone, the wind has kicked up, gusting up to 35+ mph at times. After last summer's power outage, due to freakishly high winds that blew through the area early one Monday morning downing many trees and power lines, I'm worried of a power outage again. I was 5 days without power. You don't know how much you take something for granted, until you are without it. Next on my agenda of home improvements - maybe a whole house generator.

Week 7 Remodel Update

Well, we are winding down. This is the back splash - tiled and grouted. I think it turned out great.

Now, I'm just waiting for the mirror for my main bath to come in and be installed. Then the job will be complete. Once that's done, I'll post the final pics of the main bath. Then I can get on with cleaning. There is so much dust created with a remodel, and I think it is still floating about. I should have purchased an air purifier to clean the air of most of the dust during this whole process.

Check back next week to see if I have the final pics of everything.
