Week 6 Remodel Update

Well, I didn't post an update to my remodel last week. Not much had really changed.

This week, though, the big thing - and I'm sooo excited -- is that my counter top, cook top and sink got installed. The cook top got wired and is ready to cook on. The sink is installed, but not functional yet. The plumber will be there tomorrow to get that hooked up. Also the guys will be there to install my ceramic back splash. Saturday they will be back to grout it.

Monday most everything will be completed. The carpenters will be back to "tweak" adjustments to doors and drawers. They will also get the top drawer fixed to fit under the cook top.

Anyway, here is a look at it today after the counter top, cook top, and sink were installed. Ceiling fan too.

Check back over the weekend for a look with the sink finished.

Stampin' Up! News

WOOHOO!!! Stampin' Up! has two great announcements.

First, they are going back to an Annual Catalog - no more semi-annuals. I think this is great news. You only have to purchase one catalog for the entire year. Of course you can get it FREE if you hold a workshop with sales totaling at least $150. Which will also entitle you, the hostess, a Level 1 Hostess item, PLUS $15.00 to spend on merchandise from the current Idea Book & Catalog, as well a current Mini Catalog (if there is one at that time). Contact me to schedule and hold an in-home workshop. You can also collect outside orders from friends and family, then go to my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website, click on SHOP NOW in the upper right hand corner from any page and place your order online. Submit your payment information and have your order shipped directly to you. It's that easy.

Second, new stamp sets will no longer have double-mounted stamps (numbers and alphabets are the exception). What does this mean in the short term? There is one stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog that is double mounted "Soft Summer". This set was already in production when the decision to only double mount alphabet and kit sets was made. This will be the last nonalphabet, nonkit set to be released as a double-mounted stamp set.

Week 4 Remodel Update

Well, I'm late at posting last weeks progress - sorry for that. I painted the main bathroom and stained more wood over the weekend. I should have a "transporter" or "rings" so I can get to Menards quickly, for the amount of times I've gone there to buy more wood to stain. I had to make one last (hopefully) trip to buy one stick of wood. I stained last night, and brought into the house this morning and put a coat of varnish on. Hope they dry quickly in the house so I can steel wool them, and put one more coat of varnish on - I like to put at least two coats of varnish.

Well, last week they got the cabinets all installed. They look great, but now my kitchen feels small again. They also installed the water line for my refrigerator, so I can have ice. Here are a couple pictures of the kitchen.

Also, in the main bath, the tub got set. The tile got installed, grouted, and sealed. I can finally take a bath at home. The shower will have to wait until next week (this week) because the shower curtain rod wasn't installed yet. Here are a couple pictures of the main bath progress.

Well, that's all for last weeks update. Stay tuned, we're coming into the home stretch. The main bath should be completed this week. The electrician still needs to come in and complete some work. Then on February 26th the countertop is scheduled to be installed in the kitchen. Then they will get the sink, cooktop, and dishwasher installed. Lastly, the crew will be in on the 27th to install the ceramic backsplash. Then we should be DONE! Maybe a few little odds 'n ends to tweak, but everything should be functioning.

Week 3 Remodel Update1

Well, week 3 has come to an end. My 1/2 bath is mostly done and functional, just a couple little "tweeks" need to be done. Here is a look at the finished bath.

Here is a look at the start of the main bath. As you can see they have the tub in, and it is functional enough I could take a bath in...I think I'll wait for it to be done and fully enjoy the experience!

I'm excited for next week to get here. The cabinets and most of the appliances will get installed in the kitchen, and the main bath will get finished. Check back next week.

Wednesday - the flooring was installed.

Check back tomorrow for pictures of the finished 1/2 bath.

Week 2 Remodel Update

Well, week 2 has come and gone. The construction and plastering are complete. I've spent most of the weekend painting. All I have left to do is paint the Soffit.

Here are some pictures from last week in the 1/2 bath, after demolition, before plastering and painting.

After plastering and painting:

Here are some shots of the Kitchen throughout the week:

Doesn't this wall in the living room look much better plastered, instead of that dark paneling that used to be there?

Week 3 is the flooring installation.
